Airspace — Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-09-01 · Flotilla Labs · support@flotillalabs.com
The short version
Airspace works without an account. Pins you save are stored on our server (that is what powers alerts); airspace lookups query official FAA data. We never read your device’s GPS — every coordinate in this app is one you tapped on the map yourself.
Across all our apps: no account (no signup, no email, no profile), no ads (no advertising identifiers, no ad SDKs, no data brokers, no cross-app tracking), and no location — none of our apps ever reads your device’s GPS.
What we store
- Pins you save. the coordinates and label of each monitoring point you choose to save, tied to an anonymous device identifier. Deleting a pin in the app permanently deletes it from our server.
- TFR data. temporary flight restrictions are fetched by our server from the FAA and cached for everyone — nothing about you is in them.
- An anonymous device identifier — a random string generated on your device on first launch. It contains no personal information and is not linked to your identity.
We use this data only to make the feature work. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for profiling.
Anonymous usage statistics
We record a few product-usage events — app installed, first time you completed the core action, price page opened, purchase made — tied to a random identifier generated on your device. They tell us whether the app is worth keeping alive. They go only to our own server (api.flotillalabs.com) — never to any third-party analytics service. For each event our server stores the event name, that anonymous identifier and a timestamp; from those it also keeps a per-device tally: when the identifier was first and last seen, how many events it has sent, and which of the steps above it has reached. Nothing you type or create is ever included. If you make a purchase, the event records which tier you bought (the product identifier only — never payment details).
Third-party services
- FAA airspace service (ArcGIS). when you look up a point or download an offline pack, the coordinates you chose are sent to the FAA’s public airspace service. Like any web request, that service sees your IP address.
- National Weather Service (weather.gov). the coordinates you chose are sent to fetch aviation weather for that point.
- OpenStreetMap. the map view loads tiles from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address and the map area you are viewing.
We have no analytics, advertising or data-sharing relationship with any of these services.
Purchases
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your name, card or payment details. Restore your purchases anytime from inside the app.
Deleting your data
Delete a pin and it is permanently removed from our server, along with its alerts. To wipe everything tied to your device, email us — we delete on request, no questions asked.
Security & retention
Everything sent to our server travels over TLS (HTTPS) and is stored on access-restricted infrastructure we operate. Feature data is kept only for as long as it is needed to provide the feature — deleting it in the app deletes it on the server, as described above. Anonymous usage events are kept as aggregate statistics. To have everything associated with your device erased, email support@flotillalabs.com — we delete on request, no questions asked, and that is also how you revoke any consent you have given.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children and collect no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. We will never quietly weaken it.
